Product Information & Care Guide

We use industrial-grade PVC for the majority of our products. Please read the following guidelines to ensure your safety and the longevity of your gear.

Health & Safety

  • Skin Sensitivity: Industrial PVC is non-breathable. Trapped sweat and moisture can occasionally cause skin irritation or reactions, particularly with prolonged wear of cuffs or collars.
  • Allergies: While rare, some individuals may have a PVC allergy. If you have a known allergy, do not use or handle these products.
  • Maintenance Check: Over time, improper storage may cause the material to degrade. If you notice cracking, discolouration, or leaking, please dispose of the item immediately.

Care Instructions

  • Cleaning: Wash by hand using warm water and mild household soap or washing-up liquid.
  • Drying: To prevent metal hardware from rusting, ensure the product is dried thoroughly immediately after washing.
  • Storage: Keep products out of direct sunlight to prevent material breakdown.
  • Lubricants: You may use latex-safe lubricants; however, be aware that some oils can cause PVC to degrade over time. Use with caution.

Removing Creases

If your item arrives creased from shipping, lay it flat at room temperature. In colder environments, the PVC may remain stiff. To resolve this, submerge the item in warm water (approx. 40°C) to soften the material and allow it to return to its original shape. Do not use boiling water.

Liability & Returns

Inmate Gear accepts no liability for allergic reactions or skin issues arising from long-term wear. We cannot accept returns for products that have rusted due to water damage or improper drying.
